"Blu-ray's market share was 12 percent...double what it was that same week of March 23rd......"
Cubist commentary
Since the capitulation of Toshiba and the HD-DVD format in February, Blu-ray has continued to grow. There was a bit of discouraging talk by some news outlets about the 13% drop of Blu-ray software sales the week of September 15, but as Ben Drawbaugh of Engadget HD points out, week-to-week sales figures can be greatly affected by the title being released that particular week. Without a doubt, Blu-ray software sales have continued to trend parallel to players, with signigicant gains in gross sales, market share and household penetration. It may make for interesting headlines to claim that Blu-ray is faltering, but an in-depth look at the data, as this article provides, refutes that idea.
