We thought this news was significant enough to bring to the attention of Blu-ray trend watchers. While DVD still dominates home media sales, Blu-ray has been moving up fast, with a more significant proportion of total sales coming from Blu-ray. Watchmen is the greatest yet. Industry analysts expect that Blu-ray sales will be 50% of all home media sales by 2012 (Source: Futuresource Consulting's presentation to ESCA 2009), so we expect that this record will be beaten again, and soon.
