Sony has scored on two fronts with this move. Not only have they included bonus content derived from the BD's own release, but they've also succeeded in pulling off a marketing coup as well. By making this BD Live feature accessible to both previous and selected future Sony BD purchasers, they've broadened the potential audience for the disc by offering something free, an inducement which will certainly encourage more consumers to pick up Kramer vs. Kramer. In doing so, they've stretched the capabilities of the format and enlivened the creative space of what BD can be. As recently as February 3, industry leaders were quoted as saying that BD Live was still an unknown and that nobody had determined what to do with it. For Sony, this no longer seems to be the case.
