“We came to Cubist in order to tap into their Blu-ray development experience. We’re very pleased with how our project turned out and have referred others to Cubist.”

Fallout 3 Companion Disc
Production partners Bethesda Softworks (Rockville, MD) and Interface Media Group (IMG - Washington DC) came to Cubist Media Group to author a Blu-Ray companion disc for the new Fallout 3 release.
IMG had already produced SD DVDs containing ‘making of’ documentaries of Bethesda’s previous games. Both companies wanted to begin releasing future titles on Blu-ray Disc to take full advantage of the format’s high quality video and audio, advanced menu systems, and increased disc capacity, as well as the PS3’s BD player.
IMG’s design and animation team created the graphic menu system and their DVD team authored the SD disc, working closely with CMG to ensure that the menu and program worked equally as well on the Blu-ray and fully utilized all of the new Blu-ray features. The resulting Blu-ray Disc features an hour long 1080i video program, 5.1 surround audio and five language subtitle streams, as well as an image gallery displaying weapons, screenshots, game items, etc.
As the project progressed, Bethesda/Interface notified Cubist that the German censors had deemed some scenes too violent for release in Germany. In order to comply with these restrictions, Bethseda/Interface asked for an alternate version of the Fallout 3 documentary Blu-ray Disc, containing an edited main program and only two subtitle streams – English and German.
Cubist Media Group continues to partner with innovative media companies around the country to achieve the highest standard in communications.
